Samuel “Sam” Fatzick Jr., 87, of McMurray, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 15, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Fatzick for 66 years; loving father of Nancy Fatzick (Allen) Smith, Karen (Jeff) Rothgeb, Michael Hurst (Chris) Fatzick and Laura B. (Dustin) Reinsmith. Also surviving are his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Fatzick received his art history degree from Kent State University. He was well-known for his artistic side, especially for charcoal drawings of his children. His work as a designer took him many places around the world.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling and sports, in general. He was also a member of the McMurray Veterans of Foreign Wars, having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 19, in St. Benedict the Abbot Church, McMurray. Interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
