George Robert Toland, 61, of Claysville, died Saturday, February 22, 2014, in his home.
He was born June 22, 1952, in Washington, a son of Olive Heath Toland of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and the late Jesse Toland.
Mr. Toland served in the Marine Corps from March 30, 1972, until his honorable discharge March 29, 1974, with a rank of lance corporal.
On August 31, 1974, he married Dolores “Dolly” Lindley, who survives.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Toland was a member of First Christian Church, West Alexander.
Deceased are two brothers, Donald and Charles Conaway, and two sisters, Eileen Toland and Connie Endsley.
Surviving are a son, Michael (Sarah) Toland of Triadelphia, W.Va.; a daughter, Michelle (Keith) Moore of Washington; three brothers, Dewain (Patricia) Toland, Gaylord “Shorty” (Kathy) Toland and Raymond (Sue) Toland, all of Claysville; a sister, Donna Miles of Claysville; and four grandchildren, Chloe and Wyatt Toland and Kyra and Brandt Moore.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, with the Rev. Bruce Graff officiating. Burial will follow in Mount View Cemetery, Dallas, W.Va.
