Fallowfield Twp. resident

Harold “Pap” Colvin, 91, of Fallowfield Township, passed away peacefully, Monday, February 24, 2014, in Mon Valley Care Center.

He was born November 15, 1922, in Fallowfield Township, a son of the late Hunter and Mabel Scott Colvin.

Mr. Colvin retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Allenport Plant in 1983 with 39 years of service as a pipefitter.

He was an avid hunter and loved to work in his flower and vegetable gardens.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Eileen Miller Colvin; a daughter, Barbara Palonder and husband Roland of Rostraver Township; a son, Douglas Colvin and wife Debra of Fallowfield Township; a brother Raymond Colvin and wife Wanda of Prescott, Ariz.; sisters Ruth Lonigro of Connellsville and Marie Jenkins and husband Skip of Roseville, Calif., and Carol Woodall; three grandchildren, Bryon Palonder and wife Kim, Kelly Weaver and husband Wil, and Kristin Delval and husband Chad; three great-grandchildren, Colton Palonder, Miley Delval and Jeffrey Delval; a great-grandchild on the way; and nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a sister, Dorothy Siegal.

Mr. Colvin will be greatly missed by all.

The staff at Mon Valley Care Center were kind and took care of him.

Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p. m. Wednesday in Schrock-Hogan Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 226 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, where services will be held at noon Thursday, February 27. Interment will follow in Maple Creek Cemetery, Fallowfield Township. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.schrock-hogan.com.
