Owner of James A. Rabe Funeral Home

Mary Beth Rabe Menzler, 54, lifelong resident of Donora, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 22, 2014, in her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 28, 1960, in North Charleroi, a daughter of the late James A. and Doris Whirlow Rabe.

Mrs. Menzler was a 1978 graduate of Ringgold High School and attended California University of Pennsylvania, followed by the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, where she earned her degree in 1982.

In 1984, she became a licensed funeral director. She worked alongside her father, the late James A. Rabe, and after his passing in 2005, she became the owner and president of James A. Rabe Funeral Home in Donora.

She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Monessen 205, National Funeral Directors Association, Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, Southwestern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and Mon Valley Funeral Directors.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a brother-in-law, James A. Fronzaglio, who passed away in 2010.

Her dogs, Brandy and Molly, are also deceased.

Surviving are her husband of 27 years, Robert J. Menzler; two sons, Robert Stephen (Sarah) Menzler of Glenshaw and Tyler Rabe Menzler (Joan Bradbury) of Harrisburg; a daughter, Megan Elizabeth (Michael) Parry of Donora; a grandson, Gavin Michael Parry; a sister, Mrs. Denise Fronzaglio of Donora; two nephews, James Alan (Diana) and Phillip Arthur Fronzaglio, both of Donora; a great-niece, Adriana Ann Fronzaglio; an aunt, Mary Jane Helfrich of New Stanton; and a cousin, Christopher (Melanie) Helfrich and family of Greensburg.

She also leaves her beloved black lab, Gunner James.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in James A. Rabe Funeral Home Inc., 701 Thompson Avenue, Donora, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 27 with the Rev. James Bailey of Calvary United Presbyterian Church in Donora officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
