Mary Comport, 90, of Burgettstown, died Sunday, February 23, 2014, in Washington Hospital.
She was born March 30, 1923, in Cherry Valley, a daughter of the late Matteo and Frances DeCarlo DeSantis.
Mrs. Comport was a homemaker, taking care of her family.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown.
Mrs. Comport enjoyed cooking Italian food and spending time with her family.
On October 26, 1946, she married John Comport Sr., who died January 31, 2009.
Surviving are a son, John (Michele) Comport Jr. of Washington; a daughter, Rose Marie (Gene) Sprando of Burgettstown; and a brother, George (Dolores) DeSantis of Burgettstown.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are her two grandchildren, Richard and Rebecca Sprando; five brothers, Louis, Tony, James, John and Harry DeSantis; and two sisters, Anna Spiotta and Edith Comport.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 27, with the Rev. George Moneck officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
