Lifelong local farmer

Everett Lee Riggs, 88, of Wind Ridge, died at 8:58 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014, in Precious Moments Personal Care Home, Carmichaels.

He was born September 17, 1925, in Richhill Township, a son of the late Edward Morton and Alta Emaline Morrison Riggs.

Mr. Riggs attended Richhill Township schools and resided in Richhill Township. He was a member of Aleppo Brethren Church and worked his farm with his family his entire life.

Mr. Riggs enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, watching birds and taking care of all of his animals on the farm.

On October 30, 1976, he married Loretta McMinn, in Church of the Nazarene, Jefferson.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are several brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a brother, Ross Riggs, and a sister, Hazel McDonald.

Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Yoskovich Funeral Home (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 3, with Pastor David K. Lund officiating.
