Pirates fan loved horses

Carol J. Masquelier 79, of McDonald, Cecil Township, went home to her Lord, Thursday, February 27, 2014.

She was born December 25, 1934, in Natrona Heights, a daughter of John and Edith Roberts Fleischman.

Mrs. Masquelier was an administrative assistant for Canon-McMillan School District.

She was a member of McDonald Presbyterian Church, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and an avid Pirates Fan.

She loved horses and was an accomplished horseback rider.

On August 24, 1956, she married J. Richard Masquelier, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Melissa A. (David) Mohon of Fairchild AFB, Wash., and Cara L. (Chris) Lynch of Highland, Md.; two grandchildren, Mallory and Hannah Mohon; two brothers, Daniel Fleischman of Mt. Holly Springs and John “Jack” Fleischman of Jamestown; a sister, Jean Nolf of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Vermeulen of McDonald; and a niece, Vicki Zyra of McDonald.

Friends will be received from noon to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.

Memorial contributions are suggested to McDonald Meals on Wheels.
