Former U.S. Steel electrician

Raymond Myzak Sr., 86, of Houston, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014, in his home.

He was born August 9, 1927, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of the late Michael and Adela Woodchecke Myzak.

Mr. Myzak served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 45 years as an electrician at United States Steel, Irvin Works.

He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsburg and American Legion Post 902 of Houston.

Mr. Myzak enjoyed bowling, working out at the gym and going to The Meadows. He lived in Houston for 60 years.

On June 26, 1948, he married Anna May South, who passed away March 15, 1999.

Surviving are three sons, Michael R. Myzak of Washington, Raymond J. Myzak (Kim Turner) of Meadow Lands and Joseph A. (Ann) Myzak of Washington; a brother, Joseph Myzak of Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Darren and Rebecca Myzak; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his wife and parents, are a daughter, Anna Marie Nuzum, who passed away June 9, 1998, and a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Myzak, who passed away September 8, 2013.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 2, in Salandra Funeral Service Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg.
