Faye Hill Wilson, 85, of Brownsville, formerly of Center Township, Greene County, died at 2:33 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014, in Flo’s Personal Care Home, Elco, after being seriously ill the past couple of months.
She was born September 20, 1928, in McCracken, a daughter of the late Orval and Nora Vaughn Weimer Lohr. She resided in Center Township and Cameron, W.Va., prior to moving to Brownsville in 2008.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of Sugar Grove Union Church.
She was a graduate of the former Aleppo High School.
Mrs. Wilson volunteered at bingo at the Rogersville V.F.D. She enjoyed going to flea markets with her late husband Elza (Dode).
In 1947, she married Allen Ralph Hill Sr., who died March 19, 1971, and on September 10, 1971, she married Elza “Dode” Commodore Wilson, who died September 25, 2008.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Brown of Waynesburg, and Janet, wife of Louis Hunyady, of Brownsville, with whom she had made her home with since 2008; two stepdaughters, Linda, wife of Larry Ashby, of Cameron, W.Va., and Sheila, wife of Floyd Showalter of Massillon, Ohio; three stepsons, Denzik, husband of Jeanie Wilson, of Carnegie, Arnold, husband of Vickie Wilson, of Prosperity, and Kevin, husband of Meg Wilson, of Rogersville; 25 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irma McCoy of Mt. Morris.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husbands, are two sons, Michael and Allen Jr. Hill; a daughter, Debra Hill, who died in infancy; a sister, Hazel Jones; and three brothers, John “Bill”, Weimer “Shorty” and Jay Lohr.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the time of funeral services, Sunday, January 5, in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, with Pastor James H. Jarvis officiating. Interment will be held in Centennial Cemetery, Aleppo.
