Trap shooter for 40 years
Thomas G. Malik, 86, of Washington, died Thursday, January 2, 2014, in Kindred Hospital, Oakdale, following a brief illness.
He was born December 1, 1927, in Washington, a son of John Malik and Mary Malik Kalina.
Mr. Malik was a 1945 graduate of Trinity High School. He worked for Cooper Industries of Canonsburg for 35 years.
Mr. Malik was a veteran of World War II.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church of Washington, American Legion Post 175, Pulaski Club, Alpine Club and Golden Pheasant Sportsman’s Club.
On April 7, 1951, he married Gladys Allen Malik in Winchester, Va. She died Feb. 3, 2007.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Oliverio of Washington, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Justin and John Malik, and a sister, Margaret Slesh.
Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m., the time of service, Sunday, January 5, in Hummell & Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, funeral director. The Rev. Kenneth Schott will officiate. Private burial will follow later in Washington Cemetery.
