Mary B. Sincek

Mary B. Sincek, 95, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully at 6:02 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014, in ManorCare of McMurray.
She was born September 12, 1918, in Botlz, Indiana County, a daughter of the late Alexander and Rose Urban Bodnar.
Mrs. Sincek lived most of her life in Canonsburg and was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.
She was a founding member of Canon Coin Club and also was a member of Jefferson College Historical Society.
Mrs. Sincek enjoyed knitting and playing cards. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Sincek had been self-employed as a hairdresser for many years.
On January 18, 1942, she married John W. Sincek, who passed away September 10, 1988.
Surviving are a son, John R. (Cheryl) Sincek of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, Douglas, Gregory (Katrina) and Melissa Sincek; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sincek was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are four sisters, Julia Kobrys, Helen Nocki, Ethel Smith and Elizabeth Little; and four brothers, Joseph, Paul, Alexander “Bob” and William Bodnar.
Friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 8. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg, with interment to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
