Betty Jo Amos, 75, of Waynesburg, died peacefully at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014, in home surrounded by her loving family.

1932-2013
Helen Carder, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2013, in Sandy, Utah.
She was born on December 27, 1932, in Weston, W.Va, a daughter of Freeman Stout and Mary Straley Stout, and was the eldest of eight children.
As a young woman, she graduated from Weston High School in 1950 and worked at Weston National Bank until she married Denver Carder in 1954. They moved to Ohio and then to Waynesburg, where they lived from 1971 until her passing.
Mrs. Carder was an amazing cook, loved quilting and had an affection for antiques.
She valued her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was actively involved with many groups and activities.
Mrs. Carder also cherished her time spent volunteering for Friends of Ruby Memorial Hospital at West Virginia University for more than 15 years.
She will be missed by so many whose lives she touched over the years.
Surviving are her devoted husband, Denver; children Robin Carder Bradford (Steven and their daughter Christina) and Dennis Carder (Lisette and their children Matthew and Rachel); a brother; and five sisters.
A brother is deceased.
The caring staff in Alta Ridge Alzheimer’s Community provided loving care to Mr. and Mrs. Carder for the past 18 months.

Melina Fagella, 96, of McMurray, died Friday, January 3, 2014, in Consulate Health Care Center, North Strabane Township.
She was born October 3, 1917, in Bronx, N.Y., a daughter of Vincenzo and Sophia Faiella Santo.
Mrs. Fagella was a homemaker.
She was a longtime member of St. Benedict the Abbot Roman Catholic Church, McMurray.
Her husband, Michael Fagella, died January 13, 2007.
Surviving are a son, Michael J. Fagella of McMurray; a granddaughter, Christi Noel Fagella, also of McMurray; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a brother who during his early childhood in the Influenza Epidemic of 1918; two other brothers, Carmine and Tommy; and three sisters, Connie, Vincenza and Annie.
Friends will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 194 East College Street, Canonsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, in St. Benedict the Abbot Roman Catholic Church, McMurray, with the Rev. Dan Whalen as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
Loyal, caring, devoted and responsible
Karen Augenstein Fisher, 46, of Canonsburg, formerly of Upper St. Clair, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family.
She was born October 31, 1967, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Roy W. and Faye Barton Augenstein, who survives.
Mrs. Fisher was a graduate of Penn State University and was an avid Nittany Lion football fan.
She worked as a director of quality control for 20 years in the food industry. In 2010, she purchased Dogs Rule Grooming Salon at Quail Acres, which she owned and operated.
Mrs. Fisher loved to travel and go on cruises with her family. She will be remembered by her friends as someone who was very loyal, caring, devoted and responsible.
She was the beloved wife for 20 years to Michael “Elmo” Fisher, whom she met in 1984 by accident at her parents home; loving mother to Grayling M., Riley F. and Regen E. Fisher; dear sister to Kristen (Joe) Augenstein-Sabol; devoted aunt to Alexander “Willie” and Nicholas Sabol; and many additional nephews.
Also surviving are aunts, uncles and cousins, including Jen Mackey, who was most supportive during her illness.
A gathering to celebrate her life will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 6, in Ruthfred Lutheran Church, Bethel Park, with Pastor Steve P. Carlson officiating.

Devoted in faith
Mary Elaine Gladish, 65, of Morgantown, W.Va., passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, with her family at her side
She was born in Bentleyville September 1, 1948, a daughter of the late William Coulson and the late Mary Evanosky Coulson.
Mrs. Gladish was devoted in her faith and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Star City, W.Va. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and the outdoors.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Frederick John Gladish; a son, Nathaniel Eric Gladish of Morgantown; and a brother, William Coulson and wife Barbara of Bentleyville.
In keeping with Mrs. Gladish’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home in Morgantown. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 122 South High Street, Morgantown, WV 26505.

Charles Kinkopf, 92, passed away December 5, 2013.
He was a retired steelworker and enjoyed woodworking, traveling and working on his farm
Helen Kinkopf, 87, his wife of 65 years, passed on June 27, 2013. She was a retired nurse and enjoyed painting, gardening and photography.
Both were longtime Claysville residents.
Deceased are their beloved daughter, Martha Lynn Blair; a great-grandson, Marquinn Williams; and a son-in-law, David Smith Sr.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m., time of memorial service, Saturday, January 11, in Sacred Heart Church, Claysville. Interment will be in Claysville Cemetery.
Carmichaels resident enjoyed reading, sewing
Bonnie L. Pesuti, 92, of Carmichaels, died at 1:05 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014, in Donnell House, Washington.
She was born February 15, 1921, in Jane Lew, W.Va., a daughter of the late James W. Brown and Goldie Hitt Brown Crago.
Mrs. Pesuti resided most of her life in Carmichaels, where she was a member of First Christian Church.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting and knitting.
Mrs. Pesuti always had a pleasant and positive attitude.
On October 26, 1940, she married Alphonso A. Pesuti, who died July 9, 1987.
Surviving are two sons, Anthony A. Pesuti and wife Norma of Carmichaels, and James Pesuti and wife Wanda of Crucible; six grandchildren, Anthony Pesuti Jr, Joseph Pesuti, Patricia Celaschi, Jaime McFadden, Christine Dilts and Robert Pesuti; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosemary Marcin of Carmichaels; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Charles Brown and Butch Brown; and two sisters, Stella McCoy and Goldie “Dodo” Smith.
There will be no public viewing and a memorial service is being planned at a later date in First Christian Church in Carmichaels.

Former head chef at The George Washington hotel
Tillie Natasha Puskarich, 90, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014, in Saybrook Landing, Ashtabula, Ohio.
She was born July 2, 1923, in Ontario, a daughter of Nick and Anna Swate Zinko. She had been an Ashtabula resident for the past four years, after living most of her entire life in Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Puskarich graduated as valedictorian of her class at Ellsworth High School.
She worked as a cook in numerous restaurants, but most notably was the head chef in The George Washington hotel in Washington.
A member of Cokeburg Presbyterian Church for 50 years, she was extremely dedicated to her church. She served on the ladies auxiliary and as an elder, helped with countless spaghetti dinners, performed custodial work at the church whenever needed and enjoyed reading her Bible.
Mrs. Puskarich enjoyed baking and cooking and those that knew her loved the many delicious creations she would make. An excellent seamstress, she made many of her daughters clothes, which many people thought were expensive designer fashions. She also was a great dancer and loved polka music.
Always known for helping others, she was a loving wife, mother and excellent role model.
Surviving are a daughter, Sylvia Heusinger (husband Earle “Chuck” Jr.) of Ashtabula; two grandchildren, Earle “Chip” Heusinger III (wife Natalie) and Stephanie Waggoner (husband Steve); five great-grandchildren, Natasha, Alexandra “Lexi,” Logan, Kyle and Brooke; a sister, Ann Rebich of Cokeburg; and many nieces and nephews to whom she was very close and kept in touch with throughout the years.
Deceased are her husband of 65 years, Matthew Puskarich, who died May 15, 2011; three sisters, Catherine “Kay” Cecil, Olga “Nellie” Messiano and Mary Yuvan; a brother, Peter Zinko; and her parents.

Jessop Steel crane operator
Emery Sakerka Jr., 77, of Washington, died Friday, January 3, 2014, in his home.
He was born May 4, 1936, in Washington, a son of the late Emery Sr. and Mary A. Beck Sakerka.
Mr. Sakerka attended Trinity High School and went on to work as a crane operator for Jessop Steel for more than 40 years before retiring.
He was a member of Jessop Club and enjoyed his cars, hunting, bird-watching and mowing grass.
Surviving are two daughters, Lu Ann (Steven) Hickman of Prosperity and Janie (Bill) Curran of Monessen; a brother, Robert (Lois) Sakerka of Florida; a sister, Carol Howard (Ted) Smith of Florida; three grandchildren, Tiffany (Gene) Nicastro, Clinton (Leni) Hickman and Blake Curran; and two great-grandchildren, Sofia and Giavanna Nicastro.
Deceased are two brothers, Paul and Frank Sakerka.

Hunter, fisherman and golfer served in World War II
George Sepac, 89, of Republic, and formerly of Jefferson and Mather, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014, in Golden Living Center, Uniontown.
He was born September 8, 1924, in Herminie, a son of the late Matthew Sepac and Elizabeth Cipcic Sepac.
Mr. Sepac retired from Beth Energy’s Marianna Mine.
He was a member of United Mine Workers Association; a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Forces serving in World War II; and a member of Filer-Sadlek American Legion Post of Jefferson.
Mr. Sepac was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.
In addition to his parents, deceased are three sisters and a brother.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Josephine Finky Vukmanic Sepac; a daughter, Melissa Kish and husband Robert of New Salem; a son, Randy Sepac of Mather; two grandchildren, Robert A. Kish and wife Emily of Providence, R.I., and Dr. Rachel Kish of Scranton; and many nieces and nephews.

Kevin B. Seymour, 53, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014, in Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, S.C.
He was born January 7, 1960, in Quanah, Texas, a son of Mary J. “Jackie” Seymour of Green Sea, S.C., and the late William O. Seymour.
Mr. Seymour was currently employed as an assistant golf professional for Myrtlewood Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was previously employed as a paramedic with Mon County Emergency Medical Systems in Morgantown, W.Va.
He was an avid sports fan who especially loved the Dallas Cowboys, West Virginia Mountaineers and the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. He also umpired softball for Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners (BOPARC) Recreational Center in Morgantown.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Alicia Seymour of Morgantown; two grandchildren, Chloe and Brooklyn Blosser, both of Morgantown; a brother, Keith A. Seymour and wife Teresa of Morgantown; a sister, Kimber Soles and husband Scotty of Green Sea; and five nephews, Kyle Seymour, Lance Seymour, L.B. Neer, Seth Neer and Justin Soles.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m., the time of a memorial service, Saturday, January 11, in Morgantown Church of Christ, 361 Scott Avenue., Morgantown, WF 26508. A dinner will immediately follow the memorial service in the church fellowship hall downstairs.

Mary B. Sincek, 95, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully at 6:02 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014, in ManorCare of McMurray.
She was born September 12, 1918, in Botlz, Indiana County, a daughter of the late Alexander and Rose Urban Bodnar.
Mrs. Sincek lived most of her life in Canonsburg and was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.
She was a founding member of Canon Coin Club and also was a member of Jefferson College Historical Society.
Mrs. Sincek enjoyed knitting and playing cards. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Sincek had been self-employed as a hairdresser for many years.
On January 18, 1942, she married John W. Sincek, who passed away September 10, 1988.
Surviving are a son, John R. (Cheryl) Sincek of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, Douglas, Gregory (Katrina) and Melissa Sincek; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sincek was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are four sisters, Julia Kobrys, Helen Nocki, Ethel Smith and Elizabeth Little; and four brothers, Joseph, Paul, Alexander “Bob” and William Bodnar.
