Avid sports fan
Mark Alan DeFabbo, 54, of Centerville, died unexpectedly Monday, January 6, 2014, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.
He was born January 6, 1960, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Innocent “Cinze” and Marcella Hyneckeal DeFabbo.
Mr. DeFabbo was a 1978 graduate of Bethlehem-Center High School, where he was a three-year member of the football team.
For the past 33 years, he was employed by the Centerville Borough road department as crew chief. For many years, he served as a union steward of Teamsters Local 833.
He enjoyed riding his Harley every Sunday and tinkering with his 1969 Chevelle.
An avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed Steelers football, Pirates baseball and Pittsburgh Penguins hockey. Spending time fishing and going to Plantation Park, a family camp in Mercer, brought him special enjoyment.
Surviving is a daughter, Gena Nicole DeFabbo of Centerville; a brother, Thomas DeFabbo (Aleta) of Vestaburg; an aunt, Virginia Bigrigg of Richeyville; his companion, Danyale Bennett of Centerville; his former wife, Dana Frazee of Fredericktown; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a brother, Gary DeFabbo, who died December 13, 2004.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 10 with the Rev. Paul Grunebach officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
