Retired rigger from Dravo Corp.

Glenn F. “Toots” Hilderbrand, 77, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born June 10, 1936, in Canonsburg, a son of Harry and Virginia Marshall Hilderbrand.

Mr. Hilderbrand had worked as a rigger for Dravo Corp. in Pittsburgh, retiring in 1982.

On June 21, 1957, he married Patricia Lee Fitzgerald, who died July 10, 2000.

Surviving are four children, Glenn Hilderbrand (Eloise), Jerry Hilderbrand (Tammy) and Tracy Rice, all of Canonsburg, and Wende Rubin of Houston; eight grandchildren, Jerry and Jeremy Hilderbrand, Jesse Boland, Nicolas and Cody Hilderbrand and Dalton, Spencer and Hunter Rubin; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Hilderbrand (Faith) of Canonsburg and Michael Hilderbrand (Linda) of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, Richard and Robert Hilderbrand, and a sister, Shirley Lyons.

At the request of the deceased, all services are private. Arrangements are entrusted to McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice Care of Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
