North Carolina woman enjoyed cooking

Kathleen Marie Petrick Gamble, 64, of Midland, N.C., passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014, in her home with her family by her side.

She was born May 7, 1949, in Waynesburg, to the late John Thomas Petrick Sr. and the late Elizabeth Jane Burke Petrick.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 10, in the chapel, officiated by the Rev. Mark Clontz and Pastor Finley Cutshaw. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Charlotte, N.C. The family will gather at the home at various times.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 46 years, James Edward Gamble Sr.; son James Edward Gamble Jr. and wife Sarah of Matthews; two daughters, Lori Ann Edmisten and sons Drew and Jakob Edmisten of Indian Trail, and Rebekah Lynn Cutshaw and husband Finley and children Ashley, Jessie, Finley M., Matthew, Nathaniel, R. Lauren and Caleb Cutshaw of Memphis, Tenn.; brother John Thomas Petrick Jr. and wife Darlene of Washington; and sisters Patty Petrick Campbell and husband Cleve of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Kim Petrick Deusenberry and husband Denny of Grafton, W.Va.; and mother-in-law Virginia Lawrence Gamble of Clarksville.

Mrs. Gamble was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was incredibly giving, thoughtful and loyal. She enjoyed cooking, shopping for everyone she knew and treasure collecting. She was a dedicated office administrator for Bible Baptist Church in Matthews, N.C., and Bethel United Methodist Church in Midland. She had a fighting spirit, which was an inspiration to all.
