Former Waynesburg resident was world traveler
Diane Davis, 70, of Woolrich, formerly of Waynesburg, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014, in Manor Care Health Services, Jersey Shore, following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 29, 1943, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late John R. and Dorothy Smith Davis.
Miss Davis was a 1961 graduate of Waynesburg High School and a 1965 graduate of Penn Commercial. She also attended The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
She had worked for Central Greene School District.
Miss Davis was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church, Waynesburg, where she taught children’s moments. She was a former Sunday school teacher in Fordyce Methodist Church, and had served as worthy advisor of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in Waynesburg for several years.
She traveled extensively, including trips to Europe, Asia, South America and Africa.
Surviving are a sister, Joretta D. Judy (Wade) of Woolrich; a nephew, Gordon Judy; and two great-nieces, Amanda Judy and Melanie Judy Thompson (Steve).
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a sister, Coleen Davis.
