Former Greene County resident

Lois Aldene John, 83, of Weirton, W.Va., formerly of Greene County, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014, in Brightwood Center, Follansbee, W.Va.

She was born Tuesday, November 18, 1930, in Greene County, a daughter of the late Harry Tennant and Jessie Rogers Tennant.

Mrs. John was a homemaker.

Her husband, Alton A. John, whom she married July 4, 1947, died December 8, 2008.

Surviving are six daughters, Mary Brown of Sisterville, Barb Yaworski of Weirton, Kayda Lipscomb of Weirton, Kathy White of Steubenville, Ohio, Kim Berletich of Burgettstown and Susie John of Morgantown, W.Va.; three sons, Danny John of Follansbee, Johnny John of Aurora, Ohio, and David John of Morgantown; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, William “Bill” Tennant of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three sons, Billy John, Eddie John and Thomas John; a grandson, John Ritter; a great-grandson, Wyatt Smitsky; two sisters, Mary Walters and Mae Blouir; and a brother, Huck Tennant.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of the service, Saturday, January 11, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mt. Morris, PA 15349. Pastor John Henry will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris.
