54-year member of American Legion Post 175

Richard B. Dimmack, 92, of Newark, Del., went home to be with his Lord Monday, January 6, 2014.

He was born May 22, 1921, to Arthur and Isa Dimmack in Washington, where he lived before moving to Delaware in 2000, spending the last 13 years with his daughter.

Mr. Dimmack was a 50-year member of Masons Lodge 164, Washington, a 54-year member of American Legion Post 175, Washington, and a member of P.T. Boats Inc., Boat 252 Unit RON 20.

On August 17, 1946, he married Betty Jane Lowry.

Surviving are his sons, Richard L. Dimmack and A. David Dimmack; daughter Susan Corbett; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three nephews.

Deceased are his loving wife of 32 years, Betty Jane; grandson Richard J. Dimmack; his parents; brother Frank Dimmack; and sister Amy Dimmack Osborne.

Services were held Thursday, January 9, in St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, 10 Old Newark Road, Newark, DE 19713. Burial will be in Washington at a later date.
