World War II Marine Corps veteran
Ernest Janeshek, 92, of Midway, died Saturday, January 11, 2014, in his home.
He was born September 20, 1921, in Midway, a son of the late Vincent and Anna Stemphir Janeshek.
Mr. Janeshek was a coal miner with Westland Coal Co., where he worked as a mechanic above ground. He was a member of St. Ann’s R.C. Church and Midway Veterans of Foreign Wars and a life member of Midway SNPJ. He was a former member of Midway Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran.
Surviving is his wife Della Zalaznik Janeshek; daughter Susan (Bruce) Ellis of Pittsburgh; grandchildren Rebecca (Alex) Hall of Ohio and Katie Ellis of Pittsburgh; and a great-grandson, Gavin Hall.
Deceased are brothers and a sister, Vince, Frank, Joseph, Ralph and Anna Janeshek.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 106 St. John Street, Midway, 724-796-3301, where a blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 14. Interment will follow in Center Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
