Wolfdale Bible Chapel member

Shelondia Jean Archer, 63, of Washington, died Friday, January 10, 2014, in Washington Hospital.

She was born August 28, 1950, in Washington, a daughter of the late Gerald Thomas Archer and Mary Pearl Davis Archer.

Ms. Archer was a graduate of McGuffey High School and worked at the former Hill’s Department Store in the toy department.

She enjoyed reading, especially her Bible, and watching studio wrestling, the Pens and the Pirates.

Ms. Archer was a member of Wolfdale Bible Chapel.

Surviving are three brothers, Jim (Julie) Archer, Ronald Archer and John (Barb) Archer, and a sister, Vicky Hanning, all of Washington; nieces and nephews, Cindy Hanning, Bobby Hanning, Debbie Messick, Jackie Archer and John “J.R.” Archer Jr.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, with the Rev. Fred Helmick officiating.

Formerly worked in Waynesburg

Robert Doyle Hall, 67, of Freemansburg, W.Va., went to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday, January 11, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born November 9, 1946, a son of the late Doyle A. and Lena Hitt Hall.

Mr. Hall worked for EQT Corp. for 33 years, 25 of which were in Waynesburg.

He married the love of his life, Sue Ellen Flesher, June 9, 1967. They have three daughters, all who consider themselves daddy’s girls, Rebecca Hall of Clarksburg, W.Va., Donna Earnest of Waynesburg and Robin Hall of Washington. The light of his life was his only grandchild, Jacob Earnest of Waynesburg.

Also surviving are two sisters, Sara Jane Gilkerson of St. Albans, W.Va., and Alice Jean (Daniel) Fisher of Freemansburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home, 730 North Main Avenue, Weston, W.Va., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, with the Rev. Richard Justice officiating. Interment will follow in Weston Masonic Cemetery.

World War II Marine Corps veteran

Ernest Janeshek, 92, of Midway, died Saturday, January 11, 2014, in his home.

He was born September 20, 1921, in Midway, a son of the late Vincent and Anna Stemphir Janeshek.

Mr. Janeshek was a coal miner with Westland Coal Co., where he worked as a mechanic above ground. He was a member of St. Ann’s R.C. Church and Midway Veterans of Foreign Wars and a life member of Midway SNPJ. He was a former member of Midway Volunteer Fire Department.

He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

Surviving is his wife Della Zalaznik Janeshek; daughter Susan (Bruce) Ellis of Pittsburgh; grandchildren Rebecca (Alex) Hall of Ohio and Katie Ellis of Pittsburgh; and a great-grandson, Gavin Hall.

Deceased are brothers and a sister, Vince, Frank, Joseph, Ralph and Anna Janeshek.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 106 St. John Street, Midway, 724-796-3301, where a blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 14. Interment will follow in Center Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.

Mother, sister, friend and a ‘walking miracle’

Manda Sue Maloy, 67, is now as blessed and highly favored as she ever can be, as she went to heaven to be with her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, Friday, January 10, 2014.

She was born September 25, 1946, in Pikeville, Ky., a daughter of the late John and Alta Fraley.

Ms. Maloy was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington and sang in the choir.

She was an avid Scrabble player and volunteer who brought the joy and love of Jesus to many lives.

Surviving are her sons, Kurtis (Eileen) Maloy and Trevor Maloy; her brothers, Wallace Fraley, Raymond (Jenny) Fraley and Douglas (Patty) Fraley; her sisters, Elsie (Chester) Ozarowsky, Laverne (John) McNatt and Ina (Robert) Boyle; sister-in-law Tina Fraley; her grandchildren, Emma and Elijah Maloy; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are five siblings, Roy, Ray and Merrill Fraley, Bertha Carol Fraley and Sarah Veva Riggle.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon, the time of funeral services, Wednesday, January 15, in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, with the Rev. Steve Dunlap officiating. Private interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.

Life revolved around faith and family

Karen E. Martincic, 70, of Tionesta, Hickory Township, Forest County, formerly of Canonsburg and Beaver County, went home to be with her Savior at 12:25 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014, in Rainey Hospice House, Anderson, S.C.

She was born January 1, 1944, in Rochester, a daughter of the late Edward Charles and Caroline Sack Black.

On April 10, 1965, she married John J. Martincic of Canonsburg, in Calvary Baptist Church, Monaca. He faithfully stayed by her side in Anderson every day of her recent three-month illness. They were married 48 years and had three children.

Mrs. Martincic was an active member of several churches over the years. She was most recently a member of Tidioute Baptist Church and its ladies’ missionary group. She was also active at Endeavor Senior Center.

Her life revolved around her faith and family. She enjoyed baking and perfecting recipes, and was known for her chocolate chip cookies. She made birthday celebrations and holidays very special with her creative cake designs and Danish pastries. She loved to travel to visit with family and treasured her memories of family vacations in Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico.

Surviving are her beloved husband, John J. Martincic of Tionesta; and their three children, John E. Martincic and his wife, Lorraine, of Tionesta, Deborah L. Kiffer and her husband, Lewis, of Starr, S.C., and Robert P. Martincic and his wife, Georgia, of Greenville, S.C.; six grandchildren, John Paul, Kara and Andrew Martincic and Lewis “JR” Nathaniel and Alaina Kiffer; a great-granddaughter, Teresa Kiffer; two brothers, James Black and his wife, Geri, of Monaca, and Thomas Black and his wife, Lois, of Harmony; a brother-in-law, David Owsley of McMurray; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a sister, Sue Owsley.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home, Tionesta, where funeral services will held 11 a.m. Friday, January 17, with Pastor Jerry Warren, of the Tidioute Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Townline Cemetery, Tionesta.

Avery United Methodist Church member

William Henry Noble, 77, of Washington, died Sunday, January 12, 2014, in his home, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born November 26, 1936, in Buffalo Township, a son of Gladys Noble Miller of Washington.

Mr. Noble was a 1955 graduate of Claysville High School and served in the Air Force Reserve. For 14 years, he worked as a machinist at Crile Machine, then worked as a mould maker at Penn Mould for 14 years, retiring April 24, 1998.

Mr. Noble enjoyed staying in touch with and gathering with former classmates. He also enjoyed reading and attending his great-nephew Ryan’s baseball games.

Mr. Noble was a member of Avery United Methodist Church.

He will be missed by his fuzzy friend, his cat, Benny, who stayed by Mr. Noble’s side day and night throughout his illness.

On April 15, 1972, in Claysville United Methodist Church, he married Barbara Jo Craig, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Ronald Noble of Arizona; a sister, Janet Mankey of Washington; a stepsister, Viola Krollar of Lima, Ohio; and two grandsons.

Deceased are a son William Noble Jr.; stepfather, George Miller; and a stepbrother, Lloyd Miller.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, with the Rev. Ruth Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.

Stella A. Ozelski, 93, of Canonsburg, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 12, 2014, in her home.
