Albert S. Paraska

Albert S. Paraska, 79, of Monroe Township, N.J., formerly of Manifold, South Strabane Township, died Saturday, January 11, 2014.
He was born November 21, 1934, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Steve J. and Camille Greenawalt Paraska.
Mr. Paraska was a graduate of Trinity High School in 1952. He became certified in electronics from Electronics Institute of Pittsburgh in 1961.
He was employed by RCA and GE Aerospace for 34 years. He also worked at Joy Manufacturing Co., Tactec Systems Inc, Route 19 Drive-In and Basle Theatre.
Mr. Paraska was a former member of RCA Athletic Association, South Strabane Township Parks and Recreation Commission, for which he was also treasurer, South Strabane Jaycees, Commissioners Staff Boy Scouts of America and ASQC of Philadelphia. He was also a member of Bears Club and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7288 of Calabash, N.C. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, hunting and camping.
Mr. Paraska served in the U.S. Navy and also in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1957 to 1963. He served aboard aircraft carrier USS Wasp and held the rank of Electrician’s Mate, third class. He also served in the Pennsylvania National Guard, where he held the rank of sergeant-E5.
Surviving are two daughters, Lorie (Robert) Dulaney of Washington and Lisa (Michael) Busco of Monroe Township, with whom he made his home; two brothers, Herbert J. Paraska of Bridgeville and Jerry (Betty) Paraska of Houston; grandchildren Robert and Alisha Dulaney and Marianne, Giovanna, Nicole and Olivia Busco; and several nieces and nephews.
His son, Mark A. Paraska, is deceased.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, January 17, in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadow Lands, with Father Carmen D’Amico as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. Full military rites will be accorded by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 and the U.S. Navy.
