Washington High School football team volunteer

Robert Wayne Evans, 48, of Washington, died Monday, January 13, 2014, in his home.

He was born December 24, 1965, in Washington, a son of Samuel Evans Sr. and Ruth R. Johnson Evans, who are deceased.

He was a graduate of Washington High School, where he was a volunteer assistant equipment manager for the high school football team. He was always well-liked and played a big role for the team.

Mr. Evans was very active in the Toys for Tots program every year and enjoyed fishing.

He was employed in auto service departments and worked for South Hills Chrysler in the past.

Surviving are a son, Brody A. Evans of Avella, and a longtime companion, Beth Ann Kinsky.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, Joseph Evans and Samuel Evans Jr.

At the request of the family, all services are private. Arrangements are being handled by William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
