Donald S. Casper Sr., 69, of Houston, passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 13, 2014, in his home.
He was born January 16, 1944, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Stephen “Cobby” and Amelia E. Wojcik Casper.
Mr. Casper lived his life in the Houston and Meadow Lands areas and was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg.
He was a graduate of Chartiers Houston High School and had been employed as a system designs engineer at ACI in Washington.
Mr. Casper was a member and past vice president of the SNPJ Lodge in Meadow Lands.
He served on the Chartiers Township board of supervisors for 12 years and had held the position of chairman.
On January 16, 1965, he married Diane Pabian, who passed away July 22, 1997.
Surviving are a son, Donald S. Casper Jr. (wife Kelley D.) of Wallingford, Conn.; a daughter, Danielle Marie Casper of Houston; and two grandchildren, Daniel and MacKenzie Casper.
Mr. Casper was the last of his immediate family.
Deceased, in addition to his wife and parents, are a son, Daniel Casper, who passed away September 20, 1988, and a brother, Lanny J. Casper, who passed away October 15, 2008.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9 a.m. Saturday, January 18, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick Church with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
