Apostolic Gospel Church member loved her family
Irene Walbrown, 87, of Washington, formerly of West Middletown, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.
She was born July 26, 1926, in West Middletown, a daughter of the late James Walter and Grace Irene Buchanan Jones.
Mrs. Walbrown was a member of Apostolic Gospel Church of Steubenville, Ohio.
She loved her family and her church.
On January 20, 1946, she married George Franklin Walbrown, who died January 31, 2000.
Surviving are six daughters, Laura B. (James) Ashmore of Avella, Carol Ann (Dave) Sterling of Titusville, Grace Irene Baldwin of Killeen, Texas, Kathryn L. (Michael) Sorice of Washington, Rose Marie (Randy) Sochor of Taylorstown and Janet Eileen Ward of Washington; a son, Walter Scott (Deana) Walbrown of Cincinnati, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister-in-law, Shirly Jones of Avella.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband and parents, are a sister, Loretta Christine Rush Slansky; a brother, Walter “Mont” Jones; and two sons-in-law, Robert Baldwin and Bruce Ward.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 18, with the Rev. Paul Ferguson officiating.
