Finley Middle School cafeteria worker

Joanne F. Manko, 80, of Finleyville, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, in Center for Compassionate Care in Mt. Lebanon.

She was born April 18, 1933, in Campbell, Ohio, a daughter of Francis and Margaret Grimm Engel.

Mrs. Manko was retired as a cafeteria worker in Finley Middle School of Ringgold School District, Finleyville.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville.

Surviving are three sons, Tom Manko and his wife Patti of Monongahela, James Manko and his wife Susan of Eighty Four and Bob Manko and his wife Laura of Finleyville; a daughter, Ruth Breger and her husband Larry of Finleyville; a brother, Robert Engel of Ohio; two sisters, Peggy Engel and Dorothy Bonaquist, both of Youngstown, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Deceased is her husband, Louis Manko, who died in 1981; a brother, Francis Engel; and two sisters, Marion Moore and Bernadette Eich.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 18, in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Finleyville, with the Rev. Richard Tusky as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Anne Cemetery, Castle Shannon. Memorial contributions can be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
