Worked in nursery of Magee Women’s Hospital

Joanne Fowler, 83, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Mather, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, in North Ridgeville, Ohio.

She was born September 26, 1930, in Mather, a daughter of the late Albert and Winifred O’Freal Fowler.

Ms. Fowler was a graduate of Jefferson High School and Zoar Nursing School, Allison.

She worked for 40 years in the nursery at Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, before retiring.

Formerly of Mather, she lived most of her life in Pittsburgh.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three sisters, Mary Fleming, Grace Doney and Helen Sharpneck, and three brothers, Harry Fowler, Charles Fowler and John “Pete” Fowler.

Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon, the time of service, Saturday, January 18, in Behm Funeral Homes, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P.
