Pauline M. Fox, 98, of Waynesburg, passed away quietly Thursday, January 16, 2014, in the Golden Living Center, Waynesburg.
She was born in Mapletown on October 25, 1915, a daughter of the late James Corbly and Winona Tanner McFarland.
A 1933 graduate of Mapletown High School, she was a member of Mapletown United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Fox was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Greene County. She was skilled at knitting, crocheting and embroidery work, and, at the age of 96, enrolled in a class on jewelry making. She enjoyed reading, listening to music and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.
Surviving are her two loving and devoted daughters, Mrs. Dwight (Sheila) Beall of Huntington and Rhonda Fox of Waynesburg; six grandchildren, Debbie (Fox) Arthur, Gene, Gary, Chuckie and Keith Fox and Scott Beall; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Arlie O. Fox, passed away April 14, 1975.
Also deceased are two stepsons, Gordon and Marvin Fox; two brothers, Harold and Cecil McFarland; and three sisters, Velma Frum, Leona Cox and Ina Brown.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, and until 11 a.m., the hour of service, Monday, January 20, with the Rev.
