Very active member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church

Robert O. “Bobby” Wright, 53, of Washington, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, following an eight-month illness.

He was born August 8, 1960, in Washington, a son of the late Gaylord Lloyd Wright and Marie Conger Wright Cage of Washington.

Mr. Wright was a 1978 graduate of Trinity High School.

He was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, where he also sang in the choir. He was on the board of trustees at the church, a member of the men’s club, and was very passionate about becoming a deacon in the church when his health started to improve.

Mr. Wright enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson. He was a NASCAR season ticket holder in Charlotte and a season ticket holder with the Penguins. He was a Steelers fan, avid sports fan, loved Duck Dynasty and enjoyed traveling with his family in their motor home. He loved his family time.

On November 4, 1989, he married Denise Brookman Wright, who survives.

Also surviving are his children, Christopher Wright and Ashley Wright, both at home; his mother, Marie Wright Cage of Washington; his mother-in-law, Shirley Brookman of Washington; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law and their family, Rodney and Amanda Brookman and children Ava Brookman and Jake Brookman; his grandfather, Bob Longstreath of Washington; aunts and uncles Jim (Jean) Wright of Arizona, Bob (Irma) Gray of Washington and Bob (Carol) Wright of Washington; and nieces and nephews Jimmy Fisher, Jesse Fisher and Melissa Fisher of Washington.

Deceased are his father, Gaylord Lloyd Wright; a sister, Michale Fisher; maternal grandmother Dorothy Longstreath; paternal grandparents James and Mabel Wright; his father-in-law, Bill Brookman; and an uncle, Delbert Conger.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A Parastas service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 20, in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Boone Avenue, Canonsburg, with the Very Rev. Joseph Oleynik officiating. Those attending the service Monday are asked to go directly to the church and not to the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery Mausoleum.
