Animal lover enjoyed yard sales
Catherine M. Sweaney, 62 of Clarksville, died Friday, January 17, 2014, in her home, after a lengthy illness.
She was born February 1, 1951, in Washington, a daughter of the late Franklin Glenn and Blanche Marker Remaley.
An animal lover, Mrs. Sweaney was always willing to make a home for any animal in need. She also enjoyed crafts, painting, yard sales and puzzles.
On June 13, 1997, she married Lloyd A. Sweaney, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a brother, Merle Remaley of Washington; a sister, Margaret Gazelle Dicks of Washington; brothers- and sisters-in-law Richard and Diane Ross of Carmichaels, John and Harriett Sweaney of Marianna and Eddie and Olivia Guthrie of New Freeport; and many nieces and nephews.
She leaves her faithful canine companion, Peanut.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are two sisters, Edna Finley and Mary Jane Russell, and four brothers, Frank, Tom, Ken and Bob Remaley.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, with her brother-in law, John Sweaney, officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty Four, PA 15330.
