Home builder served in Korean War
George E. McElhany, 84, of Eighty Four, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014.
He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Peggy; father of Bill (Ony) McElhany, Beth Fusco and Lou (Chris) Chamberlin; granddaddy of Brittany (Josh) Young, Nicole (Derek) Manderick, Katelynd McElhany, Ethan Coyle, Hailee McElhany, Christopher Fusco, Ryan Fusco and Corinne and Cory Chamberlin; great-grandaddy of Marlee and Dalton Young and Avery Manderick; and brother of William (Delita) McElhany.
Mr. McElhany served during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy.
He graduated from Trinity University in 1963.
Along with his wife, he started his own home-building business, George E. McElhany Inc. In the early 1980s, the business name changed to McElhany Builders with his son, Bill, joining the business.
He was the most loyal, kind, caring and loving husband, dad and granddaddy.
Funeral arrangements are by Beinhauers. Friends welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, January 25, at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. Funeral service and interment are private.
