James L. Johnson

James L. Johnson, 67, of McDonald, died Thursday, January 23, 2014, in Washington Hospital.
He was born December 11, 1946, in Frederick, Md., a son of the late James Clinton and Ruth V. Catron Johnson.
Mr. Johnson worked in Plant Management at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and retired in 2008.
He was a member of the U.M.W.A., H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group), A.B.A.T.E. (Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education) and the American Legion in North Beach, Md.
Mr. Johnson loved his dog Mercedes, enjoyed fishing and had a passion for riding Harleys.
His favorite snacks were Reese’s Cups and Lance crackers.
On May 6, 1989, he married Kimberly Whitfield, who died August 3, 2011.
Surviving are two daughters, Tina (Joseph) Havelka of McDonald and Tammy J. (Terry) Bain of Oakdale; a son, James D. (Dena) Johnson of McDonald; four grandchildren, Jess Bain, Matthew, Maddie and Samantha Johnson; and a great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Johnson.
Deceased is a brother, Thomas Johnson.
A memorial gathering will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, February 1, in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald.
