Veteran enjoyed fishing and bowling

Karl Edward Evans, 79, of North Franklin Township, went home to be his Lord Tuesday, January 28, 2014, in his home.

He was born July 11, 1934, in Washington, a son of the late Martin Evans and Elizabeth Mastnock Evans.

Mr. Evans was a graduate of Trinity High School and served in the U.S. Army.

He worked for Dick Hughes Plymouth and Beattie Buick, and later became a machinist and worked for IGS. He retired from Dynamet in 1999, where he was a tool and dye maker.

His favorite past time was fishing. He also enjoyed bowling in the senior league at Route 19 Bowl and was on the advisory committee at Washington Community Federal Credit Union.

On July 31, 1965 he married Charlotte E. Wagner, who survives.

Also surviving are his children, Rick (Tiffany) Evans of Westland, Mich., Dave Evans of West Alexander and Sharyn (Howard) Gregg of McMurray; a grandson, Devan of Florida; two sisters, Vi Tustin and Bea Strnisha; two brothers, Harry and Jim; several nieces and nephews, including Jan, who helped care for him; and several cousins.

Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m., the time of service, Thursday, January 30, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating.
