Worked as a licensed practical nurse

Loretta F. Schartiger, 66, of Dilliner, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014, in her home after a short illness.

She was born September 16, 1947, in Bobtown, a daughter of the late James and Lucille Allum.

Ms. Schartiger was most recently employed at the Wishing Well Nursing Home in Fairmont, W.Va., where she worked as an licensed practical nurse with nearly 30 years of service.

She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Schartiger and Jessica Hanlan; her sons, Michael Yanak and wife Lynn, and Scott Yanak; grandchildren David, Cori, Kayla, Brandon, Courtney, Chad, Ashlee, Cody and Nathan; four great-grandchildren, Cayden, Collin, Olivia and Avery; a brother, David Allum and wife Thelma of Morgantown; sisters Ellen Lentz of TX, Susie Franks and husband Albert of Bobtown, Betty Jean King and Pam DiCarlo, both of Morgantown, W.Va.; and her extended family, Tina and Keith, Heidi and Patrick, Tracy, Eric, Dana, Danielle, Matt and Jessica.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her son, James “Jimmy” Yanak, and two brothers, Mark and Butch Allum.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, Morgantown, W.Va., where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 30, in the Chapel of Prayer with Pastor Fred Tomlinson officiating.
