Retired coal miner

George C. Kott, 76, of Muse, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 29, 2014, in TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg, following an extended illness.

He was born April 29, 1937, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John and Pearl Trappen Kott.

Mr. Kott was employed as a coal miner with Consolidation Coal Co. at Bailey Mine, prior to his retirement.

He lived in Muse most of his life.

On October 8, 1960, he married Irene (Tootsie) Yamka, who passed away July 27, 1989.

Surviving are a daughter, Diana (Patrick) Moody of Muse; a son, George C. Kott of West Finley; two grandchildren, Dana (Chris) Hamel and Chelsey Moody; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Christopher; a sister, Judy Armstrong; and several nieces and nephews.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Private family services will be held Friday, January 31, in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, with the Rev. George T. DeVille officiating. To view or extend condolences, please visit www.salandrafunerals.com.
