Head Start bus driver born in Waynesburg
Judith A. Logan, 67, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in Aultman Hospital, Canton, Ohio, following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 11, 1946, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Mildred Dulaney Tennant.
Mrs. Logan attended Waynesburg High School.
On February 14, 1983, she married her beloved husband, Ricky P. Logan.
Professionally, she drove a bus for the Head Start program at Waynesburg and, in the late 1990s, she and her family relocated to Tuscarawas Valley, Ohio.
She and her husband enjoyed being active members of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Logan had many hobbies in life, including crafting, gardening, painting ceramics, building and decorating her own dollhouse, caring for her cats, shopping, cooking and baking, having made numerous wedding cakes throughout the years.
She will be deeply missed by a son, Rodney “Bud” (Anna) Thralls, and a grandson, her pride and joy, Grayson Thralls, both of Dennison, Ohio.
Also surviving, in addition to her husband, are her mother-in-law, Virginia Logan of Waynesburg; brothers and sisters-in-law Judy (Dale) Cook and Tim (Sandy) Logan, both of Waynesburg, Dianne (Ron) Moore of Camden, Del., Patty (David) Novak of Rices Landing, Brenda (Jack) King of Pittsburgh and John Logan of Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her first husband, John Thralls; two sons, Timmy Thralls and William P. Logan II; and her father-in-law, William P. Logan.
The family will receive guests from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory, New Philadelphia, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 8, with Pastor David Koch leading the service to celebrate her life. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. A meal and fellowship will follow the service in the church social hall.
Her legacy as a kind-hearted and loving individual was continued through the gift of sight by a donation to Cleveland Eye Bank.
