Enjoyed the outdoors, working on cars

Fred Joseph Woods Jr., 34, of Uniontown, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh, after fighting leukemia for 10 years.

He was born April 28, 1979, in Washington, a son of Fred Woods Sr. (Kathleen) of Washington and Donna Marie Roble Gump (Ronald Pritts) of Washington.

Mr. Woods was a 1997 graduate of Trinity High School and played a variety of sports while in school.

He worked hard as a mason for many years, after learning as a teen. He enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. Additionally, he enjoyed working on cars.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his fiancée, Sascha McKay of Uniontown; his two sons, Peyton Michael Woods of Waynesburg and Braylon Davon Xavier Woods of Uniontown; three brothers, James Michael Kress of Vestaburg and Jeffrey Lee Gump II and Ryan James Woods, both of Washington; and a sister, Shelly Ann Woods (Tim) Vickers of Jefferson Hills.

Deceased are his grandparents, Lillian (Harold) Hull, William Woods, Donald Earl Roble, Franklin O’Bryan and Katherine Plants.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.

The family is requesting donations be made to Fred Woods Memorial Fund, Wabellco Federal Credit Union, 1277 Park Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
