1966-2014

Kimberly S. Samila, 47, of East Deer Township, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 9, 2014, in her home.

She was born November 13, 1966, in Miamisburg, Ohio, a daughter of Louise Slasor of Florida and the late David Stalder and her adopted parents, Miles and Lorraine Manifold of Miamisburg, Ohio.

Mrs. Samila lived the past two-and-a-half years in East Deer Township. She was an elementary teacher in Miamisburg Elementary school for 10 years, where she taught sixth grade science.

She was a member of the Ohio National Guard. She was a graduate of Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio.

Mrs. Samila was Catholic.

She loved her animals, Jake, Abu and Cali, who were her best friends.

Surviving are husband of two-and-a-half years Leslie S. Samila; daughter Alexandra “Ali” McGuire of Durhamn, N.C.; son Tadd “Jack” McGuire of Miami Beach, Fla.; siblings Kelly Lipsher of Fort Myers, Fla., Chris Stalder of Wilmington, Ohio, Craig Stalder of Fort Myers, Miles (Katrina) Manifold of Norman, Ind., Zachary (Julia) Manifold of Grove City, Ohio, and Robert (Beth) Manifold of Kathleen, Ga.; sisters-in-law Debbie (Pete) Locante of Brentwood, Kathy Samila of Washington and Michele (Kevin) Pusateri of Washington; father-in-law Steve Samila of Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her father, is her mother-in-law, Dorothy Jackson Samila.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Duster Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 347 East 10th Avenue, Tarentum, 724-224-1526, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, with the Rev. Wesley M. Mash officiating. Interment will be private.
