Margaret Miller, 94, of New Martinsville, W.Va., died Monday, March 10, 2014, in Sistersville Center.
She was born February 17, 1920, in Littleton, W.Va., a daughter of the late Isaiah Gump and Edna Cosgray Gump.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker most of her life. Many years ago, she was a switchboard operator in Littleton, before today’s dial system was invented.
She was a member of Littleton Church of Christ for more than 84 years.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, David and Connie Miller of New Martinsville, with whom she made her home; two grandchildren, David B. Miller of New Martinsville and Sandra Holt of Summerville, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Jadyn Holt and Jaclyn Holt; a half brother, Fred Gump of New Freeport; and a half sister, Norma June Stevens of Mannington, W.Va.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Floyd W. Miller; a granddaughter, Linda Miller; two sisters, Nellie McLaughlin and Bessie Jobes; five half brothers, James Gump, Walter Gump, George Gump, Homer Gump and Beryle Gump; and six half sisters, Merlye Gump, Faye Gump, Jean Gump, Lenore Mae Gump, Virginia Hibbs and Sandra Kay Johnson.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Tennant Funeral Home, Hundred, W.Va., where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 13, with Evangelist Dick Bartrug officiating. Interment will follow in Thomas Cemetery, Ned.
