Beloved wife, mother and “nana”

Joan L. Marino, 82, of Canonsburg, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 10, 2015, in the home of her son, following an extended illness.

She was born July 14, 1932, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late James and Clotilda Mastrangelo.

Mrs. Marino lived her life in Canonsburg, where she was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and a 1949 graduate of Canonsburg High School.

She was a longtime employee of the former RCA plants in Canonsburg and Meadow Lands, Sarris Candies and a homemaker.

Mrs. Marino was a loving wife, mother and “nana,” who loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew her and her special sense of humor. She enjoyed cooking, reading, movies and watching sports.

On September 27, 1952, she married Angelo “Baker” Marino, who passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009.

Surviving to cherish her memory are four children, Michael (Wendy) Marino and Angelo (Susan) Marino, both of Washington, Jody (Joseph) Gasbarrini and Tami (Vincent) Paris, both of Canonsburg; seven grandchildren, Angelo and Makenzie Marino, Mallory and Morgan Gasbarrini and Matthew, Jason and Vincent Paris; sister and brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a sister, Beatrice Finney, and two brothers, Felix and Angelo Mastrangelo.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb, funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
