Paul E. Cowden, 81, of Houston, died Thursday, November 30, 2017, in TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.
He was born April 19, 1936, in Burgettstown, a son of the late Robert Thompson Cowden and Myna Edith Rumbaugh Cowden.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and worked as a truck driver for Great Coastal Express.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Canonsburg.
He loved bowling and bowled with several leagues in Bridgeville and Washington. He was an avid motorcyclist and rode to California two times on his bike.
Surviving are three daughters, Denise (John) Prevade of Sturgeon, Susan (Gene) Cox of Ingram and Christine (William) Rowan of Taunton, Mass.; two sisters, Nova (the late Verner) Jones of Pleasant Hills and Florence (the late Robert) Masteller of McMurray; six grandchildren, Michael Rees, Dawn Prevade, Melissa Rees, Adam “AJ” Prevade, Madison Rowan and William Rowan V; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four nephews, Kenneth, Greg, Scott and Rod Cowden; a niece, Naoma Sassler; three brothers, Robert, Wayne and Ernest Cowden; and a sister, Virginia Hudec.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 4. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hickory. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
