Leland Bruce Barnett
Leland Bruce Barnett, 82, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017, in St. George, Utah.
He was born August 21, 1935, in Los Angeles, Calif., a son of Daniel and Ethelyn Barnett.
On June 7, 1961, in Los Angeles Temple, he married Armi Kaarina Sarkka.
He was raised in Fontana, Calif. He had a doctorate in biology and taught at Waynesburg University. He and his wife relocated to St. George in 2014.
He loved nature, Scouting, genealogy and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Armi, in 2015.
Surviving are three siblings, Philip Barnett, Linda Barnett and Diane Siafanua; three children, Eric B. Barnett, Kaisa Eaton and David L. Barnett; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Friday, December 8, in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 449 South 300 East, St. George, UT 84770. Interment will be in Tonaquint Cemetery, St. George.
