William Clyde Westfall

William Clyde Westfall, 85, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017, in Hawthorne Woods Assisted Living, Washington. He previously lived in Prosperity.

He was born March 6, 1932, in Canonsburg, a son of William Harold Westfall Jr. and Grace Melone Westfall.

Mr. Westfall was a 1950 graduate of Trinity High School.

He served in the U.S. Army, CO “E” 35th Infantry Regiment Korea. He was honorably discharged February 2, 1961.

On April 10, 1955, he married Birdie Bell Mounts, who passed away January 10, 2016.

Mr. Westfall was a foreman for the former Russell’s Industries in Bridgeville for 35 years. After his retirement, he enjoyed working on his farm, raising beef cattle, planting his big garden, and most of all, mowing his fields.

In his younger years, he enjoyed deer hunting, and going to his camp in the mountains. He also enjoyed going fishing with his friends.

He was the proud father of the late Cheryl Froment, Barbara (Jeff) Waltz of Washington and Bill (Linda) Westfall of Dover, Ohio; grandfather of Jeffrey Waltz, Kylea Fraser, Stephanie Norman, Bill Westfall Jr., Alyssa Froment, Katelyn Yoder and Kelsey Stiltenpole; and enjoyed being a great-grandfather to Brianna Norman, Kinley Norman, Keaton Fraser, Alaska Waltz, Zayden Norman, Elliott Stiltenpole and Maverick Yoder.

Also surviving are a sister, Evelyn Beeler of Canonsburg; a brother, Ronald (Jean) Westfall of Washington; a niece, Kay Barni of Washington, who was his loving care giver; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Hummell & Jones Funeral Home Inc., 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, with Pastor Steve Ramey officiating. Interment will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
