Barbara S. Gregg
Barbara S. Gregg, 76, of Washington, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017, in Donnell House, Washington, following a brief illness.
She was born December 11, 1940, in Charleroi, a daughter of the late Theodore “Ted” and Marie A. Koffler Swiantek.
Mrs. Gregg was a 1958 graduate of Trinity High School.
She was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, Washington.
After high school, she was employed as a secretary for Suwak Trucking. She also worked at Citizens Library in the children’s department.
Her greatest gift in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She enjoyed watching and being a part of her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s lives and watching them grow up to be who they are today. She enjoyed making family dinners, and she cherished holiday memories. Being a homemaker and planting flowers all around her house was her lifestyle. She loved traveling with her husband and enjoyed all of their family cruises. They were definitely all a part of her most cherished memories. Family trips to Texas, Hawaii, London, Alaska and her many cruises with friends and family will never be forgotten. Mrs. Gregg loved and lived life to the fullest.
On October 22, 1960, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard J. “Rich” Gregg, who died March 19, 2017. The two were blessed with 56 years of marriage.
Surviving are a son, Richard Blair (Tammy) Gregg of Boyd, Texas; a daughter, Denise G. (Kurt) McDaniel of Washington; a brother, Robert C. “Bob” Swiantek of Washington; five grandchildren, Kristen (Robert) Larance of Fort Worth, Texas, Matthew (Joan) Gregg of Arlington, Texas, and Ryan McDaniel, Evan McDaniel and Austin McDaniel, all of Washington; a great-grandchild, Loralie Larance; a niece, Stacy (Don) Barber of Livonia, Mich.; and a nephew, Gary Gregg of Eighty Four.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., corner of Wilson and East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, where a prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, December 9. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, Washington, with the Rev. Carmen D’Amico as celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
