Mona Lu Dunn Hootman, 91, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017.

She was born in Washington, a daughter of the late Charles W. and Hazel Dillinger Dunn.

Mrs. Hootman was the beloved wife of the late Dr. J. Kenneth Hootman; loving mother of Dr. Barry (Susan) Hootman of Mars and Susan (Roger) Joseph of Sunset, S.C.; grandmother of Leigh (Matt) Sullivan, Libby (Justin) Bruce, Lynn Ann Hootman, Andrew (Katie) Hootman and Michael (Amber) Hootman; great-grandmother of Brooks Hootman and J. Cooper Sullivan; and sister of Barbara Badley and the late Patty Ann Fetherlin and Jim, Chuck and Dick Dunn.

Mrs. Hootman graduated from Trinity High School, then Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. She worked at Washington Hospital until the birth of her children.

She lived in Whitehall for more than 40 years, then resided in Friendship Village.

Mrs. Hootman was active with her children as a leader in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and volunteered for Friends of Whitehall Library. She enjoyed family, bridge, gardening and reading.
