James H. Gandy, 80, of Nineveh, died Friday, December 15, 2017, in his home.
He was born April 7, 1937, in Adin, Calif., a son of the late John H. and Meda I. Brooks Gandy.
He attended Yavapai College in Prescott, Ariz., and served in the U.S. Army.
On November 22, 1956, he married his wife of 61 years, Barbara Caldwell Gandy, who survives.
Mr. Gandy was a retired entrepreneur. He had worked in the building trades. He had operated businesses in Prescott, where he resided for 27 years. For the past 19 years, he lived in Nineveh.
He was a committeeman for Greene County Republican Party and a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 461 in Waynesburg.
Mr. Gandy loved to travel and to spend time with his family. His hobbies included fishing, dancing and scuba diving. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Jim Gandy Jr. of Prescott; a daughter, Lesley Stockdale (Chris) of Nineveh; five grandchildren, Samantha and Jake Gandy, and C.J., Colton and Carly Stockdale; and brother, Mike Gandy of Gustine, Calif.
Deceased is a stepbrother, Charles Frye.
Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m., the time of services, Wednesday, December 20, in Nineveh United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Don Wilson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
