Phillis Genevieve Washabaugh Sim Caldwell, 82, of Washington, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017, in Washington County Health Center.
She was born January 4, 1935, in Smock, a daughter of the late Alva J. and Myrtle Kilgore Washabaugh.
Mrs. Washabaugh Caldwell was a 1952 graduate of Redstone High School.
She was a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church and was a cook for 24 years at Angelo’s Restaurant.
She was a member and three-time past president of Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 American Legion. She also served for several years as past president of Caban 676 Washington County La Societe de Femme and was a three-time past president of Grand Cabane de Pennsylvania La Societe de Femme.
In 1956, she married Charles F. Sim, who died January 9, 1983. In 1989, she married William E. Caldwell, who died April 20, 2005.
Surviving are a son, Randy K. (Bonnie) Sim of Felton, Del.; a sister, Dolly Fike of Irwin; two granddaughters, Samantha Ksenich and Kayla Ksenich, both of Delaware; two great-grandchildren, Martin Ksenich and Elizabeth Ksenich; two nephews, Roger (Yvonne) Fike of Irwin and Myron (Nancy) McKenery of Odessa, Texas; and a niece, Patty Burtton of Perryopolis.
Deceased are two brothers and two sisters.
Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the time of services, Saturday, December 23, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Jeff Diedrich officiating. Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery, Avella.
