Leah Jane Blasch, 98, of Peters Township, peacefully entered heaven Friday, December 22, 2017. Together again, the beautiful love story may now continue as Leah Jane joins the late Carl M. Blasch, her beloved husband of 74 years, who passed away only 10 months prior.
Mrs. and Mr. Blasch were married June 25, 1942, in Johnstown. Following their marriage, they moved to Pittsburgh, where they built their home, raised three children and remained for 65 happy years.
She was born October 13, 1919, in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Marie and James Howard.
Mrs. Blasch was the beloved sister of the late James Howard, Leona Johnston and Geraldine Blasch; loving mother of Carla (Gary) Means, Kathy (Tony) Ferraro and Matt (Sharon) Blasch; and special “mama” and “grandma” to four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was a beautiful little lady in every sense of the word. She was sweet, kind and loved to laugh. More than anything, she had a wonderful gift of attracting people to her. Her life revolved around her family, whom she loved dearly. She was a wonderful cook, baker, seamstress and gardener. Her children have peace knowing their wonderful parents are joined together once again sitting on a porch with their kitties, Charlie I and Charlie II, purring contently by their sides, all together again.
Compassionate Care and the entire staff of Country Meadows provided Mrs. Blasch with kindness and loving care.
In lieu of flowers, please sprinkle kindness like confetti or donate to a charity of your choice.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Wednesday, December 27, in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. Entombment in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, McMurray.
