Betty Louise Roessler

Betty Louise Roessler, 85, of Florence, S.C., formerly of Canonsburg, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017.

She was born June 20, 1932, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late John Fulton and Grace Bowers Washabaugh.

Mrs. Roessler was a 1950 graduate of Chartiers Township High School.

She was a member of Florence Presbyterian Church and had been a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chartiers Chapter 97, Canonsburg.

Mrs. Roessler worked as a cook in Allison Park Elementary School in Chartiers-Houston School District.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Smiley (Ralph) of Florence; a son, Donald John Roessler (Mary Lou Demo) of Canonsburg; a granddaughter, Lindsay Gregg of Spartanburg, S.C.; a brother, Robert Washabaugh of Canonsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Edward William Roessler, and a son, Jay Edward Roessler.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 29. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Chartiers Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Chartiers Hill Presbyterian Church, 2230 Washington Road, Canonsburg, PA 15317, or to First Presbyterian Church, 700 South Park Avenue, Florence, SC 29501.
