Dennis Wayne Standiford, 69, of Washington, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in Donnell House, Washington.
He was born September 16, 1948, in Washington, a son of the late Wayne M. Standiford and Jean Richey Standiford.
Mr. Standiford was a graduate of Washington High School and attended California State College.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He also worked for the Department of Defense in the Army Security Agency, while serving.
Mr. Standiford worked at Crile Machine and later Frazier-Simplex, prior to starting his own business, known as Standiford Enterprises, which he maintained for 25 years.
He was a fly fisherman, a photographer and a federal firearms dealer and gunsmith. He had a wicked sense of humor and was known as crazy Uncle Denny to his nieces and nephews.
Mr. Standiford was a member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church, Washington.
On August 17, 1974, he married Deborah Johnson, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Abbie S. (Jason) Cox of Canonsburg; a brother, Bruce Standiford of Washington; a granddaughter, Madison Cox; three brothers-in-law, Robert Riggle of Washington and Merl (Patty) Johnson and David (Kathy) Johnson, both of Avella; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a sister, Karen Riggle.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 30. Burial will be held at a later date in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
