Robert I. Long, 87, of Bethel Park, died Friday, December 22, 2017.
He was the beloved husband of the late Jane Foster Long; devoted father of David (Kim) Long of Eighty Four, Robert Long (Kevin Gallagher) of Bethel Park and Bruce Long (Mark Todaro) of Wynnewood; proud grandfather of Jesse (Rebecca) Long and Cody (Rebecca) Long; and a loving great-grandfather of Zoey and Teagan Long.
Mr. Long was a very dedicated member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.
He was a graduate of Peters Township High School and Thiel College with a bachelor’s degree. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Long was a longtime owner of the family business, Walter Long Manufacturing, specializing in steel fabrication.
He was an avid antique clock collector and enjoyed hunting and golf. He was a member of Chartiers Lodge 297, F&AM, and Syria Shrine of Pittsburgh. He had helped out for many years for Shim and the Castaway Project.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 13, in Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2999 Bethel Church Road, Bethel Park.
